Dr. John Vondrak always knew that he wanted to do something that would help people and make their lives better. Today, he feels that his job is not just to be an exceptional orthodontist at Horizon Smiles but to be the best part of his patients’ day. Here, he works tirelessly to ensure that his patients feel taken care of and genuinely cared for.

At Horizon Smiles, Dr. Vondrak makes sure that all of his patients are comfortable and they know that he really does care about them. Even out of the office, each person who meets Dr. Vondrak knows that they have his full attention. One of his favorite parts about being an orthodontist is helping his patients and ensuring them that he is the one that can help them accomplish their goals. He takes great joy in communicating with his patients so that he can truly understand them to help them reach their goals in the best possible way.

Being devoted to providing exceptional patient care, he strives to truly be the best part of the day for his patients, and once they get their braces off, he wants his patients to not only know but really feel that they have received the best care they can possibly get.

Nathaniel Hansen, DDS

Dr. Nathaniel Hansen is not just your orthodontist; he’s your neighbor who understands the value of a bright, confident smile. Born and raised in the heart of Kansas, Dr. Hansen’s journey to creating beautiful smiles has taken him from the vibrant streets of St. Louis, Missouri, to the sunny landscapes of Mesa, Arizona, and now to our vibrant community here in El Paso, Texas.

Dr. Hansen’s educational journey is as diverse as the smiles he creates. He started with a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from BYU Provo in Utah, where he was not only known for his academic achievements but also for his spirited alter ego, Cosmo the Cougar. His passion for communication and connection shines through in his ability to put patients at ease.

Taking his commitment to excellence further, Dr. Hansen earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at Creighton University School of Dentistry in Nebraska. But he didn’t stop there. His thirst for knowledge led him to complete his Orthodontic Residency at Saint Louis University in Missouri, where he honed his skills and earned a Masters in Dental Science. His dedication to the field of orthodontics is driven by his desire to help people achieve the beautiful and confident smiles they’ve always dreamed of.

Outside of the office, Dr. Hansen is a devoted family man. He cherishes moments spent with his loving wife and two precious daughters. Dr. Hansen’s life isn’t just about orthodontics; it’s about balance and adventure. You might be surprised to learn that he has some unique hobbies, from the art of parkour to mastering the sport of pickleball. And for those seeking a little thrill, you might even find him enjoying cliff jumping and exploring different styles of dance.
